List of companies
What is measured?
The number of visitors is counted several times each day. The average number of visitors is calculated from the individual counts. For several companies, more than one region is counted. The sum is made for all regions that belong to the same company.

Average number of visitors vs. Unique number of visitors
Note that the average number of visitors will always be a lower number than the unique number of visitors during a given period of time. For example, if a region has 11 visitors during a given hour and no visitors the other 23 hours of that day, then the average number of visitors will be 0.45. Because of rounding this number to the nearest integer, this will become 0 visitors. Also realize that if the average number of visitors during a day is for example 5, this might represent 120 unique visitors. Of course, this might also be 5 campers.

What is shown in the list of companies?
The sum of the average number of visitors for a complete week is shown. This is NOT the average number of visitors during a week. This number is compared with the number from the week before to indicate if the number of visitors is increasing, decreasing or equal.

How do you measure?
In Second Life, the number of visitors in a region is counted. This number is available when you open the Second Life map and count the number of green dots in a region. If you move your mouse over the region, this number is displayed. We have automated this process. Checking the amount of visitors in the map happens at this moment each hour.
